Where do I start?.....I am still in Sicily
My mamma's house was built in the 1800's and before been restored as a home it was a convent.

the entrace door is the only thing that is been restored. They are not allowed to paint or stucco until they get the approval of the city and it costs millions to restore it exactly the same it was in the 1800's. The middle balcony belongs to my great nonna's flat and the top balcony with the green shatters is my mamma's first floor.

as soon as you open the entrance door there is a small square and a couple of storage rooms left and right. These rooms were used to store food like flour and beans....

I am in love with key holes this time. Everytime I go back there is something new to me that I never noticed in my childhood.

and here we go with the stairs, there are about 90 steps to get to my mamma's flat. The inside as you can see is been restored not long ago.

My mamma's new curtains. She had saved nonna's table cloths and decided to have them as curtains. So many details and all done by hand by her mother.

more to come.....Arrivederci dalla Sicilia
