Lisianthus

Lisianthus is an annual rose like flower, also known as Prairie Gentian. Each blossoms last a several weeks, and plants bloom non stop..... I came home from the Farmer's Market with this beautiful bouquet and I couldn't decide which container to use!

Title:

"The many ways to display a bouquet of fresh cut flowers".

An old sap bucket

Silver Tea Pots

A ceramic carafe

(not sure what this container is use for but I love the way the Lisianthus are displayed in it)
Displaying fresh cut flowers in a basket could be a little tricky. Here is my idea.....

I use 4 tall skinny vases, filled them with water and gently placed them in the basket and arranged the bouquet of Lisianthus inside.

(To extend the life of fresh cut flowers mix one teaspoon of sugar,1 teaspoon of bleach, and 2 teaspoon of lemon or lime in a quart of warm water. Cut the flower stems every few days at a 45 degrees angle with a sharp knife).

Happy Monday!

New Signs!

Golly!! What is my favorite color in absolute? I wonder......ugh!
WHITE

GLITTERFEST is just around the corner and I created a new collection for the event....and after I will be creating more of these signs for THE VINTAGE MARKETPLACE AT THE OAKS. What better way to celebrate the end of 2012 with two of the most amazing shows!!!

Silver, White, Black and Cream will be my main colors for Glitterfest. This year I will be sharing the GAZIBO with my friend....Amber from Black Rooster Cottage. She is an amazing artist, decorator, with an unique style. Black, White, Burlap are her main colors....

"Home for the Holidays" is our theme for the next Vintage Marketplace at the Oaks, and I am so excited for that. I will be bringing some soft pinks into the mix.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Vignettes and Macaroons

Saturday was an amazing day! We drove to Ocean Beach to visit Vignettes Antiques.  What a magical place....so much work is put into making the store more special for their 17th Anniversary.
At one of Vignettes's special events Macaroons were served. Not just any Macaroons.....the best in absolute. I have been dreaming of Macaroons and also I had the bright idea to photograph these delicious patisseries.
No Macaroons were served at this last event at Vignettes but believe me the mini red velvet cupcakes, chocolate......and Champagne was tres bon!
Anyway two nights before the event I asked Lori the owner of Vignettes infos on where to purchase the macaroons...she is the sweetest Madame ever! She had two boxes in the freezer and I was able to pick them up at the Soiree.

Please when you get a chance visit:

Key to my Heart

I have 3 sets of Initial Bubbles to make....you do the math. ( not doing the letter X, lol) Today I copper foiled most of them. (Copper foil is needed before you solder). It takes forever.....to copper foil bubbles, especially these many. I am not complaining I am just stating how much work is involved. I did cut my finger with copper foil, then I cut my self again with Glass Glitter. It's part of the process ..... While working on the bubbles I was staring at the keys that I purchased last Friday. It was time for me to stop bubbling and creating something fun!
A "Key to my Heart"
was born!

So yes....my day was labor intense and with cuts in my fingers but I love  what I have accomplished.

It was a good day

Matilda's Mouse and more

Friday was Matilda's Mouse Barn Sale. A very inspiring place, especially after our event and we need to take a brake.....we go to Matilda's Mouse.

Had a wonderful lunch in Escondido and then we continued our shopping. And visited other antique stores on the way home.
My purchases from Friday. Tea cup, mirror, lots of keys, pearl necklaces, suit case and the tiniest wheel.

I hope your weekend has been wonderful as mine.
