The Old door and The Hat

We are getting ready for the next Vintage Marketplace at the Oaks September 7th and 8th.

The theme is "Rustic Romance"
I have so much Rustic around my place that it was fun and easy to put it all together. My friend Sara gave me this door.....beautiful patina and color. The hat very spacial to me it's light pink and the brooch I purchased it at one of Granny's Flea Markets in old town Temecula.

I love doors!
What else can I do with this Old Door?.........

Enjoy this beautiful Sunny Day!

New sign!

We decided not to raise any new chicks this year. If you have chicks you know how much work they can be. Well for me they are because I become the Mamma to them. Keeping them warm and protect them from Owls, Raccoon and Hawks is one of the many jobs. I do miss  baby chickens. We have about 13 grown chickens, cute and funny still!
A couple of days ago I created this sign that I really LOVE.....and at the moment is hanging on my kitchen wall but it's for sale HERE. Loving the white background and the mix of fonts that I picked. The little chick image is from a vintage postcard.
I think my next sign should be "Chicks Crossing?".

Wishing you a wonderful Week

Dresser redo

Great Friday!
I get to join three very inspirational blogs......
and
White Wednesday with Faded Charm
I purchased this tool box at the last Vintage Market Place, two coats of eggshell antique white from Glidden, and I added the swag applique and legs. I love tool boxes, they very useful, not only to store tools but they could be brought in the house for many uses.

This dresser got a new look too. It was turquoise. I loved the color but for this next show  I am going white! You should have seen my driveway yesterday....it looked so cool with all my pieces painted white.

I love these numbers! I found them in a drawer.....when did I buy them and why?

While under the pepper tree photographing the dresser I found the perfect nest. What a gift!

Can't wait to go visit Courtney and Debra's blogs and join their parties.

Jewelry Affaire Summer 2012!

Someone wrote:
Work for a cause, not for Applause.
Live life to Express, not to Impress.

( on the cover, Cuffs by KIM ORTIZ)
What better way to follow those words then......sharing your work with others.  What is my cause in my creative life?..... To be able to create a project and share it with the world. In this issue of Jewelry Affaire available in stores July 1st, 2012 I had the pleasure to teach a private birthday class to the wonderful, hardworking, artist and cutest girl ever Beth Livesay. Beth is also the editor of many of the Stampigton's Publications.

The 3 pages article has instructions on how to make this pendant.  My piece was chosen to be in the magazine and Beth's too!

Beth's Broken China Pendant

Congratulation to you Beth!

Happy Father's Day to Papa' Deano

First day off school for the boys and we decided to clean around the pool area for my Deano's special day on Sunday.
It took us all day and it was worth it!

I purchased this lamp for $11.95 at a thrift store a couple of years ago and finally decided to take it down to the pool area. Perfect!

OK, this is not the original cover of our gazebo. Every single year the cover rips and we have to spend $200.00 to get a new one. This time I went to Home Depot and purchased a green house screen fabric for $75.00. Is not water proof but everything under the gazebo is stainless still, so...there you go! We installed it a couple of weeks ago and it took 2 days. It's not fancy but it does the work.

This birdhouse came back to life! A new coat of red paint and new words "The Reade's Shack".

$ 3.00 cushions for our retro chairs.

Deano is happy!
Happy Father's Day to all the Papa's.
Thank you Alan and Raffaele for working so hard on your first day off school.

Vintage Cabinet

When I saw this cabinet on Sweet Magnolias Farm's Blog I fell in  LOVE! I was actually looking for a cabinet to organize all my CRA....FT Supplies.

After I brought it home I decided that it should hold special items so I did. Everything inside this cabinet has been given to me or purchased from friends.

This plate is as old as me......43 years old. This was my first plate. Not sure you can see but it is a double plate. My Mamma used to fill the bottom plate with hot water to keep my soup warm.

Love my new/vintage Cabinet!
