Buongiorno!
I am joining Polly at Frenchcupboard for an Altered art Party!
Check it out.
I found a headboard at the Silverado Salvage Yard. Not the best wood or paint and since it was the headboard with no rails I had to Alter it .
As always the piece has to be cute and practical. I did add a piece of wood between the opening and to hide the gaps I added a trim. This trim has a groove that will hold the chalk.
Left over from an other projects where two scroll legs that I trimmed on the top to be able to add a piece of 4" wide pine for a shelf.
Farmer's Market was the first idea and then talking to Christie we added French. I used my usual tecnique on tracing the words. I do have a project for you to check out on how to make signs. Stop by mercatino blog and check in side bar.
Stained the piece with golden oak water base stain.
I decided on one handle under the shelf to hang towels.
Glued the eraser on a piece of molding.
The headboard is for sale and will be at the Chateau de Fleur in September.
Ciao for Now
Rita
