Glam-ping!

Feathered Nest Friday and Vintage Inspiration! This was such a fun project.....it all started with a suitcase that I purchased  in Tustin and added some painter cloth and lace to the handle. While taking the suitcase and hat down into storage and going by my favorite pepper tree where still the crinolines where hanging to dry.... I was inspired to build a tent in this special area!

It is a special spot to me because.....in 1993 the month of May and June were the hottest, we moved in the house the year before....no air conditioning or pool. I was 7-8 months pregnant gaining in all 65 pounds. It was a miserable summer but the only place were I could get some cool air was under this pepper tree. So 19 years later this is still my favorite spot.
The tent is built out of 2"x3" pine, bolts and nuts. I didn't have burlap .....but I remembered having burlap bags in storage. I cut them open and started sewing. And Voila'

Enjoy your Weekend!

  2. Rita, I love that you sewed the sacks together and made this sentimental glamping spot. The suitcase finishes it off. Love that your trying time became your place of inspiration.
