Vintage Window Before and After

I had this window and as you can see it needed some help.

I love all the pinterest ideas of using chalk board paint but I decided to paint it all white and write the numbers in black.

After painting it white (linen white by Behr paint) I brushed a maple color stain by Min wax and wiped it off with a rug.

I would love to line the baskets with fabric but I am not sure I can do that yet....

Linking to Common Ground....Thank you Debra!

Ciao for now

  2. Hi, Rita,
I took notice we are in the same issue of Artful Blogging!
I am excited to see all that you inspire here. I took notice of the last post with the vintage ceiling tin crown you posted, I also make them yet have done some wire treatment to them as well. In my latest post I have some wire crowns that I make, I have been altering art long before it was even popular, thinking I was making something when I was a young teen that was clever. Now seeing all the work out here is mind boggling and not enough room in ones head to store it all up and get creating.

Your feature was beautiful, in fact I loved how you had to re-enter names until you came up with the one that all and all ended up the right name for you.
I just got my copy yesterday and will enjoy reading on all who is featured.
Come for a visit to my place and see the posted wire crowns I have made a few photos after painted furniture piece. Also a wire figure of our Italian greyhound.
Will enjoy getting to know you much better.

  3. Rita ma quanto mi piace! Io non coprirei il ferro con la stoffa, è pieno di fascino proprio così semplice e arrugginito.
    Baci!

  4. Wow, Rita. I have two windows with panes and now I know exactly what to do with them. This is so clever. I think I like the baskets just the way they are.
