Sicilia Part III

I arrived the Tuesday, and Wednesday my sister-in-law Nadia took me to a big Market in Ragusa. So happy, I purchased all the laces that I needed and some cool rings too. Something that you may not know about me is .....I don't like to shop for more then an hour, I start getting confuse. Well, after looking at all the beautiful piles of lace I purchased 2 bags. We arrived home and realized one bag was missing....left it somewhere. No way! going back to find the bag? And that market is once a week and I was leaving the next Wednesday. Sadly I am still thinking about it...
Thursday is the Market day in my town Santa Croce Camerina, so decided to try to find more lace. It's maybe a mile away from the house so I walked. This first photo is a pic of my Nonna Maria's house on the way to the Market. Now owned by my uncle. Good memories....

This second pic is of one of the balcony's of Nonna Angelina's house. Now belongs to the grandkids. Nadia is a seamstress and that's where she has her studio now. So before going to the Market I stopped by to see what other creation was in the making. I love to create with her, we have so much fun! I wish she leaved closer...
I am so fortunate to have to artists as sister-in-law, what I team we would be!

  1. Ciao Rita~ I soooo enjoyed your post and WISH I was there with you! We just had stuffed artichokes yesterday for Easter with our lamb. Oh, how I miss shopping regularly for food on the Amalfi Coast! So glad I stopped in again. Be back soon. You do the same. xoxo

  4. Rita your Nonna's house is beautiful. Yes, I bet you have such wonderful memories there! Nadia's creations are gorgeous. You are all an amazing bunch of artists. I am feeling so bad about the missing bag of lace...that is so something I would do! But the laces you have pictured here are so lovely and I know you will create some gorgeous things with them!
Now I'm off to see Nadidia's blog!
    hugs
