Time flies when you are having fun.....well it's time to get serious. Kinda! For this White Wednesday I would like to show you one of my fixer-upper to take to the next Chateau de Fleurs. I should have taken more photos of the before but I am pretty sure if you are into redoing junk you probably came across one of this cabinets at least once. I found this sewing machine cabinet at The Silverado Salvage Yard here in Rainbow. Not in very good conditions but that's the best part. The price was right.
I took out the beautiful cast iron sewing machine that Principessa loved and I was left with a hole on the bottom of the cabinet and added a shelf. The top was not in the best conditions and I created another top out of the same shelving material.
Also I added a back splash made out of 3/4" pine and shaped it with a jig saw and added one of my appliques that you can find on my etsy
And left the beautiful (to me) patina of the old paint.
I am building 4 cabinets and a table for Jackie B. using beautiful old doors that she was saving for a special project. They are huge, well for shorty me they are....lol I am so looking forward to see them finished and see them all together at Jackie's. I will show you my progress in the next couple of days.
Enjoy visiting Kathleen's blog for more White Wednesday.

You are very talented. I love the added embellishment you put on the apron and the finial on the bottom is that extra added oomph that makes this piece so very special. :)

What a very cool cabnet, and you left it chippy. I love to refinish furniture too, but I have such a hard time leaving things chippy.

What a lovely old piece and I too love the beautiful old patina that you left 'as is', time often creates a look that just cannot be duplicated as a piece ages to perfection. I kinda hope that's how I'm aging??! *wink*
